Cooking Skills

A monthly cooking skills peer group for youth and young adults (Salina) focused on learning how to prep, shop, cook, and clean up. Classes are at Prairieland Market, 118 S. Santa Fe Ave, Salina, the 1st Monday of each month, 4:30p-6:00p. Please RSVP one week before the class – space is limited.

Youth Peer Group

The Youth Peer Group (Salina) meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday, 4:30p-6:00p. Various skill building topics are discussed and art activities include art, puzzles, and games. The group meets at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 743 E. Magnolia Rd, Salina. Call us to join.

Arts & Crafts Peer Group

This peer group provides monthly opportunities for people with disabilities to visit while crafting. Seasonal monthly themes for the craft are developed.

Health & Wellness Peer Group

Partnership with Salina Family YMCA

In an effort to better connect our consumers with the community and enhance quality of life, Independent Connection is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Salina Family YMCA. This collaboration will provide consumers the opportunity to focus on their health and wellness and foster connection and growth.  Consumers who wish to learn more or participate in this peer group can contact us for details.

We are partnering in the community to bring people together that have limb loss, limb difference, or support someone who knows someone who does. Meetings will focus on resource sharing, support, and learning. Meeting location and times will be determined by group preference and size. If you or someone you know is interested, give us a call!

Mental Illness Peer & Family Support Group

---

A free, peer-led support group, NAMI Kansas, for any adult who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. Adults with loved ones who have lived experience are also welcome. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others, and the groups are led by trained leaders who’ve been there.

In-person Meeting, 2^nd Tuesday, 7pm-8:30pm, Salina Grace Resource Center, 315 S. Broadway, Salina, KS 67401.
