Youth Transition and Services

Are you a teenager who needs someone to talk to?

Do you feel like people do not understand what you are going through?

Are you lonely or do you feel isolated because of your disability?

Independent Connection’s youth services address disability issues for children and young adults. We work with families to educate them on options, opportunities, and ideas for children with disabilities. We have staff that sit on the transition councils which is a collaboration of agencies assisting to make the transition from high school a success. We have partnered with the Kansas Families Together organization to provide training and information to families to better understand the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). We will assist families through the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process.

We have recently added a new core service:  Youth Transition.  Independent Connection provides services that support transition into adulthood.
